For The Children Tournament 2 Player's Packs
Hey everyone,
Thank you for your patience while we've worked to get the player's packs finalized. We're really excited on this end to run an even better event than the last one. For those who don't know, last November was the first time that I had ever run a gaming event larger than 10 people in my basement. I could not have done it without the help of my amazing wife and the fantastic members of the gaming community like Matt Wornardt and Paul Ting holding my hand the whole time. We've learned a lot and are working hard to make this next event so much better. (I made sure that the principal ordered 120 tables not 20 this time)
FTC 2 will be on May 14th at St. Rose of Lima School in Calgary. Registration and doors open starts at 9 AM with games starting between 9:30-10:00
Cost is $10 if you pre-pay at Imaginary Wars or e-transfer Official E-mail, otherwise it's $20 at the door. It really is the best if you pre-pay because we'll have a better count for food and tables, as well as making sure that you guarantee your spot in your chosen event, I'd hate to have to turn someone away because we ran out of spots.
So, here are the links to the posts with the Player's Packs

X-Wing: I am still trying to sort out the x-wing tournament system. I will have something official up within the week, but for now we'll be using the standard tournament system at 100 Points

- All models are expected to be WYSIWYG to a reasonable standard, Exceptions will be made for themed units or armies.
- Using a proxy violated our policy
- Using a reasonable substitute as a "counts-as" another model does not violate our policy.
- If in doubt, send a picture to the TO in advance to ask if it is acceptable.
Sportsmanship
- This is a Charity Tournament for a game that is supposed to be fun!
- Sportsmanship will be handled on a thumbs up/thumbs down system
- Reasons to give a thumbs down include: your opponent was more than 15 minutes late to the game; your opponent verbally abused you; your opponent knowingly cheated(be prepared to support this with evidence to a judge)
- These are not reasons to give a thumbs down: you lost the game; you had a rules argument that was resolved; your opponent brought a better list than you and capitalized on an unexpected synergy.
- Thumbs down will be treated seriously and swiftly. If the situation warrants, the offending player may be ejected from the event without a refund provided.
Army Construction
The event will be using the Project Points Cost comp pack as presented HERE. These documents are updated frequently and the versions available on Wednesday, November, 18, 2015 will be used for the tournament.
We will be playing at 1,500 points as per the PPC comp.
Scenarios
Scenarios will be given out the day of the event.
Terrain
Terrain features will be used as presented in the Age of Sigmar. The exception to this will be that at the beginning of the game, prior to deployment, one player will roll a d6 and both players will take turns selecting a piece of terrain and rolling for it on The Scenery Table from the AoS rules.

Heavy/Gargantuan Lord of War may be taken from the allowed LoW list, below.
o

o
Exception: One detachment in your army may include a unit of
Tau Stormsurge. This unit may contain more than one Stormsurge model.
o
Note: A Fortification does not count as a model in your army for the

·
Selection Criteria: We use the following guidelines to determine which
Super Heavy/Gargantuan Creature LoW are allowed into the ITC format. A LoW
choice is allowed so long as it does not violate any of the following:
o
It has a larger than 5″ blast D Weapon.
o
It has a Hellstorm Template weapon with Torrent.
o
It has a larger than 5″ blast weapon that ignores cover.
o
Is a Super Heavy Flyer or Flying Gargantuan Creature.
o
It has a “Titan” stat line. We mean by this LoW that have a stat line
similar to or better than any of the Titan class Super Heavy Vehicles
(Warhound, Revenant, etc.), Titan class Gargantuan Creatures (Hierophant), or
Daemon Lords.
o
Exception: If a LoW has easy access to means to violate the above
criteria such as through Psychic Powers, or wargear such as Marker Lights
paired with a LoW with a larger than 5″ blast weapon, etc. In the case
that we can simply disallow the wargear item we do that instead such as with
the Battle of Keylak Legacy of Glory on Imperial LoW.
o
Exception: We allow units that violate one or more of the above
guidelines in if they prove to not be overwhelming in power. To date, this has
only been done to allow in some Super Heavy Flyers.
·
If one player has a Super Heavy/Gargantuan LoW and the other does not,
the player without can roll on the Escalation Warlord Table and gains +1 to
Seize the Initiative.
·
For every 3 Hull Points/Wounds dealt to a Super Heavy/Gargantuan
Creature LoW, the player dealing the damage earns a bonus maelstrom point.

Tournament
Format
·
Reference the ITC FAQ for rules questions.
·
ITC events use a W/L/D format with Swiss pairings.
·
Each mission has 2 Win Conditions worth 4 points each, and 3 Bonus
Points as defined in the mission packet. The player that achieves the most
points during the course of the game is the winner. Both players note their
mission points.
o
In the case of both players having the same amount of mission points,
the game is scored as a tie.
·
The winner adds 1,000 to their mission points to determine their total
battle score. The loser adds nothing to their mission points. In the case
of a tie, both players add 500 points to their mission points to determine
their total battle score.
o
Example 1: Player A defeats Player B, 7 mission points to 4. Player A’s
total battle score would be 1,007 and player B’s would be 4.
o
Example 2: Player C ties Player D, 5 mission points to 5. Both of their
battle scores would be 505.
o
The purpose of adding the points is to stratify the field based on their
W/L/D records to allow for easy Swiss pairings. Simply pair players with the
highest scores, working your way down. By adding 1,000 and 500, accumulated
mission points will never trump a player’s win/loss/draw record.
·
The player with the highest battle score score at the end of the
tournament is the tournament champion.
Modeling and
Painting
·
Models are not required to be painted. That said, we urge players to
show off all that this wonderful hobby has to offer. The judges will make a
selection of the best painted armies that will then be put on display to be
voted on for the award of Best Presentation
·
All models are expected to be WYSIWYG to a reasonable standard.
Exceptions will be made for themed units or armies.
o
Using a proxy for a model violates our policy.
o
Using a reasonable substitute to “Counts As” another model, does not
violate our policy.
o
If in doubt, send a picture in of a model to your TO in advance to ask
if it is acceptable.
Sportsmanship
·
Sportsmanship is handled with a Thumb’s Up, Thumbs Down format. We
default games to a Thumbs Up from both players.
·
If your opponent was acting in an unsportsmanlike manner, which we
define as being verbally abusive, physically aggressive, was more than 15
minutes late for a round, or knowingly cheated on a rule, you are free to give
him or her a Thumbs Down on sports. This rule does not exist to express
displeasure in a game because you didn’t like your opponent, your opponent’s
army, or you had rules debates, etc.
·
A player that receives two or more Thumbs Down on Sportsmanship will be
met with administrative action up to and including ejection from the event with
no refund of the ticket cost.
Missions
·
Scenario packs will be given out on the day of the event. There will be
3 selecting from the ITC scenario pack
·
Terrain: Terrain should be defined
between players and adjusted before the game begins. There should be a roughly
symmetrical distribution of terrain on the table, with 2 line of sight blocking
terrain pieces outside of either deployment zone, offset from the center of the
table.
·
Fortifications: are all placed using the same
guidelines. Fortifications may not be placed within 3″ of a board edge or
another piece of terrain. If a Fortification cannot be placed under those
guidelines, move a piece of terrain. If it is still not possible to place a
Fortification, remove a piece of terrain to make room for it.
o
